At High Society Farms, we are so excited for each family to meet their puppy and begin this journey together. We understand that puppy pick-up day is filled with excitement, and it can be difficult to absorb a lot of information all at once. This guide is designed to provide you with everything we will review at pick-up, in a clear and easy-to-reference format you can return to at any time.

Veterinary Care & Vaccinations

Your puppy will need to visit your veterinarian between 11 and 12 weeks of age for their final puppy vaccinations, including DHPPv and Rabies. You should also discuss Leptospirosis and Bordetella based on your lifestyle and boarding needs. All puppies have been vaccinated using Nobivac Edge, which requires three vaccinations by 12 weeks to complete the primary immunization series. Complete veterinary records will be provided at pick-up. Please bring these records to your veterinarian appointment.

Feeding Your Puppy

During their first weeks with us, your puppy has been eating Purina Pro Plan Sport Salmon & Rice (All Life Stages). You will also receive Pro Plan Puppy Wet Food and FortiFlora probiotics. Puppies currently receive one meal per day mixed with wet food and probiotics, with dry food available throughout the day. When transitioning to your preferred feeding schedule, offer slightly more food than expected to prevent rushed eating and encourage healthy habits.

Crate Training

Your puppy has begun crate exposure and associates the crate with positive experiences such as lick mats and chews. Feeding meals in the crate, offering treats, and practicing short crate sessions will help continue this progress. Always remove collars before crating and ensure the crate is safely secured.

Potty Training

Puppies have been litter trained since three weeks of age, providing a strong foundation for house training. Maintain a consistent potty schedule, take your puppy outside after naps and meals, and reward successful outdoor pottying with treats.

Training & Socialization

Golden Retrievers are intelligent and eager to learn. Begin with short, positive training sessions focusing on sit, come, and down. Puppy obedience classes are strongly recommended to support training and socialization.

Toys & Enrichment

Your puppy enjoys interactive toys, puzzles, and enrichment activities that support mental development.
